Agora Você Vai Entender O Enforcado no Tarot

A carta da suspensão — não como castigo, mas como rendição que reorganiza a visão. Uma leitura imagética do arcano.

If you are in Brazil now, you are probably emerging from the chaos and ecstasy of Carnival. The streets that were overflowing with music, dance, and joy are now quiet. The energy has shifted. Ash Wednesday marked the official end of the celebration, a moment of transition where many return to their routines, while others extend the holiday season just a little longer, stretching this liminal space between indulgence and responsibility. It is a strange yet familiar sensation—the feeling of suspension, of time slowing down, of everything hanging in the air before life resumes its normal rhythm.

Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro If you are on the east coast of Australia, like me, you are experiencing a different kind of suspension. A cyclone is sweeping through, bringing floods, destruction, and uncertainty. Here, Neptune’s power is undeniable. The water element is not just symbolic but real, reshaping the land and forcing surrender. Plans are canceled, routines are interrupted, and the only option is to wait—just like The Hanged Man in Tarot.

This is the energy of the moment, no matter where you are. We are in a collective pause. The cosmos is reflecting this suspension through powerful astrological transits: Neptune, at the final degree of Pisces, is dissolving structures and intensifying the feeling of uncertainty. The Sun, now conjunct Saturn in Pisces, reminds us that surrender does not mean passivity, but rather a conscious acceptance of the present moment. The North Node, forming an aspect with Neptune, is pulling us toward an unknown future, where clarity is not yet available. This is the lesson of The Hanged Man—the art of waiting, of seeing things from a different perspective, of trusting the unseen forces at work.

The Hanged Man: A Lesson in Surrender The 12th Arcanum, The Hanged Man, is one of the most misunderstood cards in the Tarot. At first glance, it seems like a card of suffering, stagnation, or helplessness. But if you look closer, you’ll notice something unusual—the figure in the card is not struggling. He is upside down, yes, but his face is serene. His hands are often behind his back, signaling a state of surrender rather than resistance. He is not trapped; he is in a state of voluntary suspension.

This archetype teaches us a crucial lesson: not all progress is forward motion. Sometimes, life demands that we pause, reflect, and shift our perspective before moving ahead. In many mythological traditions, the act of suspension is a path to enlightenment. The Norse god Odin, in his search for wisdom, hung himself upside down from the World Tree, Yggdrasil, for nine days and nine nights. In that suspended state, he received the knowledge of the runes—symbols of deep spiritual insight. This is the wisdom of The Hanged Man: transformation happens not through force, but through stillness, contemplation, and surrender. Knowing the runes only revealed themselves to those who were worthy, Odin hanged himself on the tree, pierced himself with a spear, and denied any sustenance or help from other gods. Odin peered upon the runes with an intense focus, and after teetering on the balance beam between life and death for nine days and nine nights — and perhaps even dying a little bit — Odin beheld their secrets. In spite of his pain and exhaustion, he then let out a great, beastly yell. After this, he became the great god he is known as, and wielded a number of magical powers

Living The Hanged Man Energy Right Now Astrologically, we are all experiencing this archetype in real-time. Neptune’s last degree in Pisces is the ultimate moment of dissolution, where the old is washed away, but the new has not yet taken shape. The Sun and Saturn in Pisces bring themes of responsibility and structure to a sign that is naturally fluid and boundless—forcing us to redefine what discipline means in a spiritual and emotional context. The North Node’s aspect to Neptune reminds us that the way forward requires trust, even when we can’t see the whole picture.

This is why many people are feeling lost, tired, or in limbo. If you’re experiencing fatigue, confusion, or even existential questioning, you are not alone. This is not a time to force clarity but to embrace the unknown. Like The Hanged Man, we are being asked to pause, to see things differently, and to surrender to the process. Tornado in Australia

Rituals for this Time of Suspension If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, here are some ways to align with this energy:

Water Rituals – Take a long bath, visit the ocean, or immerse yourself in a river or waterfall. Let the water wash away old energy and create space for renewal.

Journaling – Write down what you are feeling without trying to make sense of it. Let your thoughts flow freely, like a stream.

Meditation and Breathwork – Focus on deep breathing and stillness. The answers you seek may not come through logic but through silence. Surrender Practice – Consciously release control over something you’ve been trying to force. See what happens when you stop resisting.

The Invitation of The Hanged Man This moment in time is not about action; it’s about transformation through stillness. The Hanged Man is not asking you to push forward blindly but to trust that the answers will come when the time is right. Whether you are emerging from the intensity of Carnival, navigating a natural storm, or simply feeling the weight of these astrological transits, know that you are exactly where you need to be.

The page is turning. But before the new chapter begins, take a moment to hang in the space between. Look at things differently. Surrender to the unknown. This is where the real magic happens.
